With the Agreement for Joint Venture and Co-operation with EQUS, a physical meter read occurs once per quarter (every three months). For the interim months your monthly billing is generated from a computer estimate reflective of two months of data.

If you would like to submit a meter read on a more frequent basis, you may do so. Following are the guidelines for meter reading for Tomahawk REA members.


  • With all meter read submissions, please ensure that you reference your EQUS account number.
  • Meter reads should be recorded and submitted on the last day of the month (prior to 11:59 pm) , or as close to the last day as possible.
  • Ensure the date of the meter read is included.


Meter reads may be submitted as follows:


  • Phone in your meter read: toll-free-1-888-211-4011. This option is available 24 hours per day/7 days per week.
  • Email your meter read to reads@equs.ca  
  • Forward your meter read via fax: 1-403-227-1007
  • Drop the meter read off at the EQUS North Area Office in Onoway ( for convenience an after-hour drop off is available)
  • Mail to the EQUS Main Office in Innisfail
