We are trying to organize the AGM adhering to the current guidelines. We would be adhering to those guidelines - face masks, hand sanitizers, no social snacks (cookies, etc), bottled water and adhering to social distancing requirements for gatherings of 100 people. Even with all these precautions would you still be worried about attending the AGM due to COVID 19 and getting sick? Once stage 3 is launched and lessens restrictions further will you still have concerns?
Please call the office at 780-514-8732 or email the office firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can see how many members would be directly affected and not able to attend the AGM because of COVID-19 worries. YOUR FEEDBACK will dictate whether or not we proceed with the planning of the AGM for the near future. Only call the office if you would be unwilling to attend because of COVID-19 ONLY!! We will need to know your name and member number to ensure accurate data collection - this will be kept confidential!!!

Do I need to sign a contract with the Tomahawk REA?
While you may be receiving services from the Tomahawk REA, to be considered a member of the REA you must sign a contract which is then approved and validated by the Board. As stated in the Tomahawk Electrical Services Contract, the names provided on the contract are required to be the same as those on the land title certificate.
Upon the approval of the REA Board, a person may become a member of the association if that person
1) owns or has an interest in land and is 16 years of age or older (This means a potential member must demonstrate that their name (s) are on a land title or are in possession of legal documentation that confirms their ‘interest in land’ in some other official format);
2) enters into a contract with the association for the provision of utility service to that land (A contract is defined as a legal, agreement between two entities with provisions for both parties to confirm their acceptance – in the case of the Tomahawk REA that necessitates a signature from the member and from the Board as well as the Tomahawk REA seal to validate the contract.)
3) pays the membership fee. (This is a one-time fee paid for the initial membership.)
What are the benefits of being a member of the Tomahawk REA?
Owner - As a member of the Tomahawk REA you become part owner in the association
Voting rights - you have a say in who is part of the Tomahawk REA Board of Directors
AGM - as a member you are welcome to attend the Annual General Meeting
